Description

Day 01 – Arrival at São Miguel Island – PONTA DELGADA (+/- 5 kms)

Arrival at the airport and pick up the car. Continue your journey to your accommodation in Ponta Delgada, starting point for the first night, check-in starting at 3:00 pm. Assistance with information to explain the program +/- 45min at a time to be agreed (6:00 pm / 7:00 pm / 9:00 am or 10:00 am the next day). Free time and overnight stay.

Day 02 – WEST COAST (+/- 100kms) – After breakfast, departure to the Northeast Coast, with the municipalities of Ponta Delgada & Ribeira Grande. Pico do Carvão viewpoint with views of Sete Cidades and its lagoons, Ferraria and its thermal baths, Mosteiros in the far west of the island, Capelas with the black stones viewpoint, or even Rabo de Peixe, a fishing village. In the late afternoon, return to the accommodation and overnight stay.

Day 03 – PONTA DELGADA > NORTHEAST (+/- 100kms) – After breakfast, check-out and departure to the Northeast Coast, with the municipalities of Ribeira Grande & Nordeste. Ribeira Grande with its center and gardens, Salto do Cabrito and its walk, Santa Iria Viewpoint, Gorreana and its tea plantation, Fenais da Ajuda with the Moinho de Félix trail, Ribeira dos Caldeirões, Vigia das Baleias viewpoint, and finally, the Boca de Ribeira natural pool. Check-in starting at 3pm, free time and overnight stay at the accommodation.

Day 04 – NORTHEAST COAST > SOUTH (+/- 60kms) After breakfast, check-out and departure to the South Coast, with the municipalities of Nordeste & Povoação. From northeast to south, route of viewpoints, Vista dos Barcos, Ponta do Sossego & Pico dos Bodes, and finally, Povoação with its town center. Check-in starting at 3pm, free time and overnight stay at the accommodation.

Day 05 – SOUTH COAST (+/- 30kms) After breakfast, it’s time to explore the municipality of Povoação. Furnas, a green valley with the Pico do Ferro viewpoint, Lagoa das Furnas and its fumaroles, Ribeira Quente along the coast with Praia do Fogo and finally, the thermal waters of Furnas with Poça Dona Beija & Parque Terra Nostra. In the late afternoon, return to the accommodation and overnight stay.

Day 06 – SOUTH COAST > PONTA DELGADA (+/- 80kms) After breakfast, check-out and departure to Ponta Delgada, with the municipalities of Vila Franca do Campo, Lagoa & Ponta Delgada. Vila Franca do Campo, known for its golden sand beach, its queijadas (traditional sweet) and the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Paz, overlooking the village and islet of Vila Franca. We continue to the Pico da Barrosa Viewpoint, with a view of Lagoa do Fogo and finally, passing through Lagoa 6 São Roque near the coast. Check-in starting at 3pm. 20/25min assistance to see how the holidays are going (6pm / 6:30pm / 7pm). Free time and overnight stay at the accommodation.

Day 07 – PONTA DELGADA (+/- 5kms) After breakfast, we suggest visiting Ponta Delgada on foot, with the São Brás fort, the São Francisco field, the pedestrian streets with churches and chapels, the City Gates, the Antero de Quental Garden or the Mercado da Graça, the main points of the center of Ponta Delgada. In the late afternoon, return to the accommodation and overnight stay.

Day 08 – PONTA DELGADA – Departure (+/- 5kms) Breakfast and check-out until 11am. Departure to the airport. Car delivery at a time to be arranged at the airport and boarding.

RENT-A-CAR

EXCLUDE: 1. Fuel, fines, tolls, parking / 2. Damage caused to third parties or to the rental vehicle due to negligence or improper driving / 3. Loss of or damage to aerials, jacks, safety triangles and vests, windscreen wipers, petrol caps, luggage covers or any other fixed or mobile component of the vehicle / 4. Damage to the engine due to negligence / 5. Theft of the vehicle with the keys left in the ignition / 6. Damage caused to the vehicle or to persons due to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs / 7. Fines due to violation of traffic laws and regulations during the rental period are the responsibility of the driver of the vehicle. In the event of a fine being received, an administrative fee will be charged / 8. If the car is left outside the area designated by Rent a Car at the time of delivery, travelers will be responsible for any costs generated and for any damage to the vehicle due to it being parked outside the Rent a Car premises / 9. Each additional driver / 10. Any extra equipment (GPS, baby seat, etc.)

– Driver age from 26 to 75 years old (must have held a driver’s license for at least one year)
– Collection hours are from Monday to Sunday, from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. If the withdrawal is made outside of business hours, an additional fee will be charged.
– Drivers who are not citizens of the European Union must present an international driving license along with the original from their country of origin.
– If the traveller returns the vehicle before the return date agreed in the rental agreement, the rental company will not reimburse the customer for any unused days
– Deposit by Visa or MasterCard credit card only
– Reporting of accident/theft must be made within 48 hours of the incident
– In cases where, after the return of the vehicle, additional cleaning is required due to the vehicle being dirty beyond the expected level of normal use, an additional fee will be applied, upon proof of the cost of the service provided
